Agree with Red - if the tires are good, it's probably a buy at that price. I've got a '49 M and a '53 SuperM that seep oil around the pto housing. A new gasket would likely solve the problem on mine! I have no first-hand experience with the 9-speed, but I do remember that at least one company advertised that their unit made the trans MORE durable than stock because you could pull heavy loads in high-2 or high-3 that put a lot of strain on low-4. Makes some sense, as when lots of farmers souped up the engines to 50+ hp and plowed in 4th gear, they soon found the weak point in the transmision. 4th gear puts a lot of side-thrust on the transmission shaft under heavy load, and the bearing that supports it has a very finite lifetime under extreme conditions.
