The license on a pickup is for the truck itself, if you are going to pull a trailer you need to license it heavier according to the truck and trailer combination. This info is not in the old operators manual. Go to the nearest dealership and get info on the vehicle you have, one half ton, three quarter ton or whatever you have, and get the rating, it does not matter what year it is. Example: If you have a 1979 F250 and you want to pull a trailer, a four ton trailer is what you need.
