Well, When the Canadians left the shop I work at, they took our business card with them. Much to my surprise, my shop called me on Tuesday and said someone called sounding like my best friend and wanted my home number. The shop gave me the number of the caller and it turned out to be the Canadian...........with bad,bad news. It seems the Unimog had an oil-out. A leak some where robbed the engine of all it"s oil, it was on the highway. It had a locked up 5 cyl. Mercedes Diesel. The local Detroit dealer somehow got it to turn again, but it ain"t good. The owners called me to perform an engine swing for them. It seems they trust and believe in my ability to make the repair. They are locating a replacement and will tow it back to the St. Louis area. The Mog made it from St. Louis to Indianapolos, indiana. I think I was as disappointed as they were. By the way, this unit is a four door, diesel powered unit from 1982. It sold for $18,000. I guess I"ll get another chance to drive the beast. Won"t happen to the end of the month at the earliest, so long for now, Chris.
