Hi Dave, I've never heard of anyone puttin' up a pivot for just 20 acres, but I guess it could be done; just doesn't really seem economic or something? However, they can be configured in all sorts of different ways. Anyway, you don't want a used one; they wear out. Not only the alignment switches, the gear drives, the tires and the motors, but the pipe itself. All that sand cuts thru the bottom of 'em like a knife. That's why they only have a life expectancy of around 15 to 20 years. If you see one that has been traded in, there was probably a pretty darned good reason for it. A full 7-tower system runs in at roughly $52K. No pad, no underground feed and no underground electricity. Also, your well has to be equipped with pressure bowls instead of open discharge.
