If your shaft area is worn, NAPA (I think) can get a product from Chicago Rawhide called a 'Speedy-sleeve' which slip over a worn/damaged shaft to allow a seal to work properly. It's a very thin metal sleeve. I don't know if they make one that will work in your application. Bearing/seal shops can get these, too. To remove the oil from your still-probably-new brake shoes, some folks on these tractor sites have mentioned baking them on your gas barbeque grill for several hours. Seems like it would work, but I wouldn't get the shoes cherry red. If you're running synthetic gear oil, switch back to plain old dinosaur oil. Synthetic tends to leak much more easily, esp. on older vehicles. Call your Ford dealer and see if they have any neat ideas - this is a perennial problem with N-series Fords.
