what i run in my pickups and semi is amsoil 1540 fully synthetic. run the pickups 20,000 miles and filters at 10,000. i always run and they get up to operationg temperature. the way i figure it oil is cheap insurance. i run a good filter k and n oil filters. the way conventional oil is and as many quarts is a diesel takes not worth changing often (as the quantity) and the way crude conventional oils the prices of that is going fully synthetic isnt too bad. i do like cummins valvoline blue is a great motor but finding it around here anymore is very vrey hard (read that it cant be found around here) so i switched to amsoil. if your planning on the truck a long time and you spent that much money on it dont skimp on oil. i figure too if i run synthetic it is a much better oil they can minipulate it however they want and need also aint supporting the arabs
