I'm now a city slicker too although I grew up on a dairy farm so I know my milk does not come "from the store". It seems we think that we can import all of our produce from Mexico, our beef from Argentina, cotton from Egypt, soybeans from Brazil, etc. We ignore the fact that many of the people in these countries are forced to live and work in deplorable, substandard conditions and that their products are grown using chemicals and unsanitary practices that would never be accepted here. But hey, that's OK, because what we don't (or refuse) to know can't hurt us, can it?
