I run 1.5 to 2 qts of Mobil 1 15w50 syn in my lawn equip (including 2 Kohlers....15 and 17.5 hp). Being syn it resists heat better and I can go a whole season with honey colored oil. Probably run anything you want. 30 wt hd was the standard for many years. Main thing is to keep it clean. With parafin based oil (regl motor oil) that may mean 2 to 3 changes per season depending on usage and conditions. That's why I like syn. Mark Mark
