Go with the wide. It will strain the spindles less from sinking into the ground under load and so steer easier too. I did that on my MF-135 that had a sturdy loader, went from 6.50-16 to 11L-16 wagon tires on 8" wide rims. They didn't sink at all, practically floated over standing alfalfa, but didn't steer well in loose dirt because of the small ribs on wagon tires. When I moved that loader to my JD 4020, I moved the wide tires too and after some troubles rotary hoeing, I went to 11.00-16 four rib tires which gave me even more ground clearance. 6 bolt rims aren't so common in 8" wide but they do exist. Shoup has them I think. And you do have to pay attention to offset. I think mine are in the range of 2" which gives the same spindle clearance as the originals did on both tractors. Gerald
