You dont need anything fancy...For a few acres of punkins...what I do it take an old 290 planter...and take the hoppers off...paint a line on the wheel, one revolution equals about 3-4 feet....at every revolution of the wheel while you are waling behind, drop 2 seeds down the chute....by using this method you dont need any plates, you dont need to worry about spacing, just drive what you want....or if you want about 6-7 feet spacing, drop seeds with every other revolution....cheap way to get by with what you have....it dont take long to plant a few acres....or rig up a seat bracket and mount it to the frame of the planter and ride along....
