I dont know what yoaur using it for i know you said single axle but alot of miles round town etc. are you driving it or not. i have driven many dt466's some in single axles like for the township i plow for in the winter some in tadem dump trucks. in the single axle thats geared super low for plowing it does ok for its purpose. its for subdivisons and plowing snow you arent trying to get a load up to any considerable speed so for that its ok. I personally say and think it has a lot to be desired in a tadems and in a single axle that you are trying to maintain any speed with they just dont have any power. also its what your acustomed to. way better then a 318 detroit but way less then a 855 cummins. if your used to 318 detroits a 466 will be a powerhouse caddy if your used to 855 cummins youll be very disappointed
