Jim, Zetor builds a good sound tractor for the money. Good on fuel, good power, heavy with lots of steel. You'll gain 5-10 hp and at least 2000 pounds. Tractor comes with many standard features that are options on other makes. Things like 2spd PTO, independent PTO, air compressor, platform, window washer, etc. Parts are available same as any brand at comparable prices. Major warehouse in Harrisburg, PA and a great source for parts is Ridgeway Enterprises in Summit, AK. The dealer network is not what it was 10 years ago. Zetor is very popular in England, Ireland, Norway and the rest of Europe. Zetor lost ground due to the war in homeland and competition from newer brands like Mahindra, Century, Kioti and others. If you buy, plan on owning it a while as the resale value is low, but that won't matter if the tractor fits your needs. I've owned a 5011 for 12 years and had no trouble at all. Never touched the engine, fuel system, clutch or hydraulics. Just regular items like belts, hoses, master cyl., and filters have been done. There is a dealer in Keene, Keats GMC, and one in eastern CT, Foskett Equipment.

The year was about 1967 and my father found a good used Ford 601 tractor to use on the farm instead of "Bob", our old mule. Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
