Probably said this here before: Used to see about the same # of JD 494 & IH 56 planters around here. Then saw like 8 out of 10 (conservatively) planting with JD 7000 type compared to the 400 cyclo - think I have only seen 1 500 series around here; the 400's left such a bad impression! Then perhaps 6 of 10 JD 7200 compared to the 800/900 IH/Case series. Now with the 1200 cyclos, I see 8 out of 10 of those compared to whatever JD is currently making for new machines going. Most popular planter around here is still JD 7000 - 7200. But those newest Case Cyclos are finally making inroads for those buying new. It's been a long, long time for the red planting machines to be popular again. My neighbor bought a 1200 series last year. Looks like a good machine & he likes it - now. Took him 2 weeks to get it working tho, I about had my corn done & he hadn't gotten 3 acres in & ended up with better yields with my little old 7000. Was just a set up & get things going deal for him, but sure was a struggle for him to make it work that first year. I'm not into color wars, like to use a machine that makes money, I've got all colors of stuff around here. :) --->Paul

They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
