My tow vehicle has air brakes but my trailer has electric. When I break down and buy another trailer I'll definitely go with air/hydraulic disc.

I finally got sick enough of looking at all the way way overpriced, worn out diesel duallys and just built me a truck. I took a regular semi-tractor and removed one drive axle, chopped off the frame and put a 1 ton pulling bed on it to tow my dual tandem. I got it re-rated and re-registered all the way down under CDL weight. It now uses the same plates and inspection sticker as my pick-up, is cheaper to insure and a heck of a lot more fun to drive. With a small block Detriot S60 and a Super 10 its got more power than I'll ever need and still gets over 8.5 mpg loaded. Even with 700K on it, it will still outlast a brand new dually and probably never turn a wrench on it. Its actually cheaper all the way around except when its time to do oil changes.......... $183 last week.
