It's good to see there are some people who are safety conscience out there. I took some molten copper/steel in the lense of the right eye when a connection shorted while closing a box cover. The contacts took the worst but my optomatrist gives me heck every checkup. Dumb *ss invincable apprentice I was. Moaned and complained for a few weeks when hard hats and saftey glasses were made manditory on job/work sites in the mid 1980's. One day when pulling cable up a conduit. The pullers slipped and the end hit me square across the glasses. Safety glasses saved my right eye without a doubt. I used to make ear plugs out of damp cotton battan as an older kid and up until cheap effective comercial units were avalable. I still pass the hearing tests with only a -10 db in the left ear in one range. Lost that as a young kid driving tractor.
