Umm you need to get the polarity correct. IE hook the cable that is the Neg (ground) on the PU to the Neg (hot) lead on the 8N. Otherwise the 6 on the tractor will be fighting the booster vehicle instead of helping. I know the starter doesn't care but the rest of the system does. Would also suggest that you make the ground hook on the tractor last and unhook it IMMEDIATLY when engine catches. Make this connection to the frame somewhere away from the battery. Don't stand with your face over the battery. If the battery blows up you will get hit with a ugly stick and spend some time in the hospital. As mentioned before make sure tractor is in neutral. jt
