Nobody has said it so I will. The reason you should get rid of the tank is this; yes it was ORIGINALLY tested to 300 psi. It won"t test that high now. Also, your safety devices are set at 150 psi and you have a rubber hose. None of this matters if the tank suddenly has a rating of only 100 psi - The tank will go first. A fifty gallon bomb on the truck. I have read in a magazine for stationary engineers about hot water heaters whose tanks have burst. The tank split and went through a wall of the house. The wall didn"t even slow the tank down it only stopped when the tank ran out of water(propellant). That was with water. Air pressure will be even worse. Now if the tank is tested as a pressure vessel and certified, knock yourself out. Good luck.
