Onstar is great when not abused by the FBI. It is part of a reciprical agreement between FBI and NSA that NSA monitor all onstar messages washing them through a computer database that searches for key words that are of interest o them. They(FBI) also have an agreement with Onstar to listen in on people they have an interest in. They can do this remotely at the push of a button. For example you use the phrase, "boy that idea blew up in my face"in a conversation using onstar, the computer automaticaly tags you for further scrutiny because you used the key words " blew up" I know of two guys that were on leave from the military that knew about this program and to make a long story short, they got drunk and started using key phrases in Onstar conversations just to poke fun at the FBI. These two guys woke the next morning in handcuffs on the way to Ft Huachuka Arizona for interrogation. They were eventualy released, but it caused them much grief.
