Good luck. Doubt a couple ports sittin on two hill tops would talk 20 miles. A couple hi power mobles maybe if the land in between is flat and there are no obstructions (towns, trees and such). What your going to be lookin at is a base system with an antenna 75-100' in the air. Then maybe you could reach a port 20 miles out (line of sight thing). Earths curve comes in to play at 10-12 even on level ground. Between ports 2-3 miles. Dat said, you use the unlicensed shared freqs you'll be limited to 5w transmit power and it may not work anyway (designed for local business yards). So I'd say your gonna have to get a license, put up a 100' tower and use a min of 15w mobles. *OR* check the local shops and see if you can rent space on a repeater. Depending the terrain, freq band, location and its height, it may cover as much as a 40 mile radius (port, 60 mobles) around that tower. Just make sure your needs fall into it.
