james, i own the same model and year,63suburban725,the 3 pullies off the right side of motor are 2 speeds and 1 will run a snowblower etc.when u engage the lever to them pullies it then tightens the long belt going to the clutch pully, now how the reverse works.while your driving forward the 2 pullies are compressed together, when u move the lever back for reverse they are supposed to seperate allowing the big 1 to go forward and the little 1 to go backwards, the cable coming up from the bottom draws down on the little 15inch belt so the rearend will go in reverse, now there are 4 bolts in the 2 drive clutches,to adjust u want to remove the outer 2 push the lever forward with the engine off, put a 1/2 inch ratchet in the center and turn it forward until good and snug but not all the way tight u still want it to be able to open up for reverse, beleive me you will play with this for awhile till both work right.I have not still been able to find new clutches yet,I restored mine complete last year its pretty awesome, but I still have problems with the clutch every now n then, goodluck email me back we can swap information and some pics. these tractors are getting real hard to find, there for awhile i wasnt for sure if there was anymore out there other than mine, hope I could help.....chad
