Howdy, Well I really like this question. Back in 1993 when I was around 11 or so years old I went to the machinery show down in Georgetown OH and heard what sounded like a lawn mower gone out of control. Pretty soon I saw that it was a huge green and yellow tractor. In a few seconds the lawn mower sound disappeared and a beautiful thud thud sound filled my ears and I fell in love. It was a John Deere R and until the year 2002 I wanted one of those with all my heart. I loved that sound and many times I'd dig out the video tape and listen to that same event. In 2002 I finally got my R and love to listen to it idle down as the front wheels jump up off the ground with each stroke. I love it. The funny thing about that story is that Russel Black, the man I bought the R from, is the one who owned the John Deere R that I first heard back in 1993. Amazing. Oh, by the way, Brian in Ohio. You forgot another great sound we have down on the showgrounds. Remember the old Buckeye oil engine? You just can't beat that beauty. God bless. --old fashioned farmer

There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
