Good advice from almost everybody- its possible to overwork any old machine, but that doesn't mean that, with some care taken, it can't do the jobs you need it to do for many years to come. As far as you "buying someone else's troubles", thats what everybody does with these old tractors. You just keep patchin' and keeping the old iron going. Some of us think its fun, others get irritated with breakdowns and go spend 20 grand on a new one. To each his own.
