I know that members who post on this web site are very resourceful and thought you may have some answers to my problem. We bought, (Wife and I) about five acres house barn and tractor shed ,it was cut from larger acres , the owner at that time must have been mad as a hornet fences pulled down water supply to the barn and shed cut off at the pump electrical fittings torn out and underground electric cable cut off at the barn . I am trying to trace the underground cable from the barn to the house .The phone company traces u/g cables with their bleeper . Necessity being the Mother of invention, There is no electric power involved either end, If I hook up a twelve volt battery to the cable end ,would a metal detector pick up the magnetic field around the wires and trace the wire , anyone have any clues on this or what would work. Thanks
