Progress simply means the progression of time .It may or may not include making things better. My son in law's dad started a printing and office supply company about 40 years ago.The business was very successful like the one in your town but a national chain came a few years ago and offered them millions for their business. They felt they couldn't refuse and sold out.The national chain bought out several mom and pop stores like this one. Then the national chain filed bankruptcy a year later.Luckily for the son in law's family they somehow couldn't take stock in the chain. They took the cash instead or they would have lost "BIG" time. But several of the moms and pops took the stock as partial payment.
