I'm pretty sure the 8N had been converted to "neg ground" before the kids got hold of it. I haven't looked at the referenced diagram that Roger mentions, but you should be aware of that. Unless the alternator was one of the "rare pos ground" type, it won't work unless you complete the re-wire with the battery "neg" terminal grounded to the chassis, probably under the starter, huh?
