Its probably easier to find a tractor with working PS than to find the parts loose. I've seen several where its been taken off becuase of broken parts. I think it takes the power steering cylinder that mounts on the front of the steering box, a new top for the box, a new steering column with the control valve, then the pump with reservoir and some hoses. Rebuilt pumps run $400 or 500 at CT. Last I checked (8 or ten years ago) with MF the steering cylinder assembly was $472 (I'd broken mine on a MF-135 that uses the same scheme). You can make steering a lot easier by changing the front tires from narrow ribbed tires that anchor themselves with 11L-16 wagon tires on 8" wide rims. They won't cut a rut and have miniscule ribs that don't steer as well in loose dirt but that means they turn a lot easier under load. The MF-135's power steering makes a difference under a loader but its no where near the power steering of my JD 4020. The MF is power assist, the 4020 is true power steering. It might be easier to rig up a steering column and cylinder from a combine than to find the appropriate MF parts. That way you'd be driving with hydraulic power and the tie rods would only be tying the two front spindles together through the steering gear box while the cylinder was anchored to a radius rod and on tie rod. Just a wild idea. Gerald
