I'm not so familiar with the Orange tractors, but I have an 85 & 140 hp Blue tractors. I run about the same stuff you want to, no batwing tho. Throttling back has it's problems. Not the best. You are missing the power curve of the diesel engine. Especially so if you have a turbo. Can do it for an emergency, but wouldn't want to plan for it all the time... Most tractors ubnder 150 hp have both options, change the stub pto shaft & get the other pto speed. Would Allis have this option as well? Both my Blue ones do. The bigger Blue tractor has a longer frame, different steering radius, just designed for more heavy all day tillage. The 85 hp tractor is much more nimble, much better turning, etc. I would not want to run a small square baler with it, just not as manuverable. Typically the bigger units use a lot more fuel per operation, so you will be less efficient. Assuming you won't be running it 2000 hours a year so probably not a big deal. --->Paul

After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet). I did keep everything I replaced for the day I do want to restore her to showroom condition.
