I used to say it was worth something just to say I was in business. Seriously, I know what you mean. With fuel prices the way they are, we have cut way back on buying AND selling tractors because we can't justify the fuel to get them moved. One thing about the expenses you stated, tires, rims, etc., those will last you a lifetime just doing parades etc., so you're done with the big parts. You just have to grin and bear it sometimes, and justify it by thinking it's still cheaper and less cantankerous than ........ well, you know where I was going, huh Allan. Good luck and git er done. Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
