I believe the later 5000's, and definitely the 6600,and the 5610 used the 256 cid engine. The 6610 used the 268 cid engine. The blocks are all basically the same, for a given year. The stroke is the difference. The 256 engine has a 4.2" stroke, while the 268 used a 4.4" stroke. Both have the same bore, at 4.4". Early 5000's and the 5600 used a 233 cid engine, with a 4.2" bore and a 4.2" stroke. There may be other differences as well regarding the balancers, so the short answer is that the cranks are not interchangable. I suppose it could be done, if you wanted less displacement, and got the different rods and pistons to match the crank you have, if you could ensure that the balancers were the same. It would be cheaper to either have the crank turned, or buy a new crank for the 6610. HTH. Rod
