International 2500 series

I'm interested in a International 2wd 2500 series tractor. I'm not that familiar with International tractors but I can probably get it for a good price. What size tractor is this? Is it a well made tractor? Fellow I talked to says they can't keep brakes on it, apparently there is a leak somewhere. Could this be a major problem? Tractor was used on a prison farm mainly for pulling trailers. Any help is appreciated.
