As The Red said, opinions will vary.I personally seldom find the need for brakes on the road.I use my throttle to slow my M down, then make my turn. The main thing I use brakes for is to stop. However I too keep them locked together simply for the reason that some idiot may pull out in front of me or something else like that.Even at idle in 5th,its slow enough for me to make turns safely.I should also mention that most of the roads I go down I am able to do that.I do use my common sense when operating both of my tractors and dont take any unnecessary risks.I should also add that MOST of the people around respect my(and others)machines, mainly because I live in a farming community and respect the danger that comes along with them.Just my two cents worth.Drive safely!
