Variable speed is back on, and now the belt is super tight. Too tight I believe. The rear spring pulley is adjusted as far out as possible, however the belt is so tight that it has the spring side pulley looking out of whack. No matter how much I adjust the springs I cannot seem to get it straight (it was straight with the old worn out belt). The lack of even tension from the springs causes the belt to sit uneven in the front pulley, which causes a wobble and thumping noise to the axle. Bearings are not worn yet but if I don't get it right soon I will be replacing bearings next. I am finding that although I knew nothing about these machines a couple days ago, I am learning faster than I wanted to.
