You know, I've had the same type of occurance. I had a Mustang GT, order it new, didn't want and wouldn't buy off the lot. Waited eight weeks. I treated that car better than I treated my body. Thing is, that's my choice. Accidents are one thing and I can live with that. However, when it's just someone's don't give a damn attitude or worse, someone doing it on purpose, that just burns my butt. I disrespect no one for what they drive, I do treat them accordingly as to their actions. If I have not wronged anyone, I don't expect them to do something to me or mine just because I have an '91 model (at the time) and they don't. Right now, I'm in a '96 model with it's own dents and such that had a blown engine when I bought it. I take my pride in that is it mine and I built that engine from the crank up, not that it's newer, cooler, or whatever - cause it isn't any of those things. If someone did something to it on purpose, I'd go through the roof. Even on my 9 year old car. If an accident, I'd just expect them to fix it and MAYBE say sorry. The gist of this thread is what happened to just being decent and mindful of others and their stuff? I shouldn't have to say, "well it would've happened anyway, I'll just live with it" as some have suggested. If we give in completely to an attitude such as that, eventually people will lose all comprehension of respect others because there will be no responsibilty taken. Just my thoughts on it. Chris.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
