Tami, You didn't mention if the tractor is gas or diesel. The first thing he may want to try is just a little either into the air cleaner while trying to start it. If it starts for a few seconds and then dies, the problem is probably fuel related. A clogged line or stuck float(if gas).If it does not fire at all the problem could very well be electrical. I hope this helps and please let us know how he makes out with the problem.
