Thank you for all your input on this, the buck we had 12 years ago stayed with us for 3 years, never put in a pen at any time, always run free and as you said Jim became our Lab's best friend. The wardens told me as long as it is not restrained the deer can live where ever she wants to. I will be going to town tomarrow to get goat milk replacer to keep her going. We do not go looking for these deer to pen up or to hurt, this doe was near death when we found her, so to me getting her back on her feet and healthy is the right thing to do!! When she decides to return to our timber she will be healthy and ready to go. My 2 cents......... Binder-Man
