I noticed when approaching the clerks at Sears for a tool replacement, they check a drawer for a refurbished replacement. If there is one in there I get that one instead of a new one. I complained that since I am over an hour from my nearest Sears, I would prefer a new one. My request has usually fallen on deaf ears. I have too much invested to jump ship at this point. I usually have a box I throw replacements in until I plan to go to the city to take care of it. In their defense, I have returned items that were my fault they were broken as well. How many screwdrivers have you broken prying that brake drum off? In most cases, they don't ask how, they just get you the replacement. Probably why I have three yard rakes. As soon as I break the second, its time for a roadtrip.
