Help-dead and wet tractor

Tractorfolk:

Washed down JD 790(diesel) on Saturday. Sprayed off whole trac with garden hose after soaping down ,etc. Now trac won't start. Nothing at all when turn key . Normally at that point the idiot lights on the dash come on . Lights will not come on either. Trac mechanic friend says can't figure ; must be coincidental , he says.

Any ideas? All fuses are okay.
