What a day.

Howdy folks, Well this was it, the first day on the new job. Took a little bit of time to shake off the new guy jitters that come with any job. Nothin too surprising today. Learned just how messy it is behind that parts counter. Don't be fooled by organized displays when you come in...it's not pretty back there. I didn't see much sunshine as I was playing gofer. The two head honchoes were doin all the customer work (and it was a busy day) so that left me to sort parts, stock parts, and fill orders with new parts shipments. Unfortunately that work ran out way before quittin time so I got pretty bored back there at the check in counter. Some of the guys down there can't seem to understand why I am so enthusiastic about this job and why I like to actually work hard. Hmmm...I'm not even gonna answer that. All in all it went pretty well. Got familiar with a lot of the operations and look forward to tomorrow. And top that off with the fact that I actually got some hay down today. An old friend from church used his haybine to cut my alfalfa this morning (we're trading work) and I sickle cut some fescue and orchard grass this evening. Felt great to get back on the Farmall A and listen to that seven feet of sickle mower click along. Love it. And Allan, if you need some hills you should come over to my farm and play tippsy with those big red machines of yours. ha ha.
