Even if you have a new plug, try putting in a new one. Cheap, quick & easy.... I had the same trouble on my push mower this afternoon. The plug was almost new, but on a hunch, I replaced it. Mower fired right up & ran better than it had in a while. Glad to see you working on engines, it is very educational. You will learn a lot more than the teens that play video games all day......
