Mike, the two center cylinders have reed valves with their own intake, looks like a two carb setup. No valve lifters running on the cam for the center cylinders. the engine runs smooth at hi speed, idel is so low and smooth, unlike my last Harley, that you can count the RPM's of the cooling fan.
