Hi tractor friends, I'm needing input. I've got a 630 JD that was not too bad at all when I got it, I painted, new tires, brakes, seat, wires, massive cleaning etc, to finally come away with a nice 630. I like the machine very much. But I do want another tractor at this time, keeping the JD. I have a hard time with the hand clutch backing up to an implement and hooking things up by myself most of the time, would like very much a regular ckutch pedal. I still want 40 to 50 or so HP, want a short turning radius, want above all things to be able to hook on a 50 or 60 inch garden tiller to rip apart the big garden I have every spring.Mowing with a rotary if small spaces around trees and fences are present would be nice to be able to manuvere more easily. Can you guys make some suggestions about good old machines that you know go slow enough for a tiller to operate properly/, and still be something thats pretty neat. Like I say I am proud of my 630, that darn thing has seemingly a lot more power than it is supposed to have. I love its sound, (straight stack)and its massiveness, (about 5900 lbs). I'll wait to hear back. Bruce Werner

From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
