Duty cycle to me means some thing else. Not that it runs 24 hours a day, but what percent of full power it is operating at. Since the load varies, there is no way it would be at 100 percent for more that a minute or two. On a generator or pump maybe. I was told that stationary engines and that might include tractor engines, were tested to find max HP, then rated at 80 percent of this for continous duty. I once saw an ad for Case 830 rated this way for power unit operation. Would hate to run any of mine at full power (absolute full power) vary long.
