I have an old Ford 550 TLB. It's hard to access the pulleys to replace the one v belt on the machine. You literally have to disassemble the hydraulic pump shaft and take the front end off. Last year I found this composite link vbelt in sections which I can assemble around the 3 pulleys without any takedown of any shafts. The dealer told me it's rated for 80 HP, my TLB is 55 HP. Problem is, the links stretch, snap, I constantly have to relink the belt, and it's frustrating. Anyone have any experience with these composite v belts? Is it just that the stuff I am using is inferior quality? Do these belts work in Ag tractors long term? I have heard that Fenner Drives make the best ones( PowerTwist-Red) Any opinions?
