If there is little or no compression the valves are probally stuck. Squirt some penetrating oil in the plug holes, let it set a while, then try tapping the valve(s) down by putting a medium sized allen wrench in the plug hole and rotating it to contact the top of the valve. Tap the end of the wrench and if you're lucky you'll hear the valve snap down. Turn the engine over. It will likely stick again so repeat the process. Good luck.
