OY...Problem with grandmas car.....

Ill try to make this short,Grandma has a 1992 Chevy Lumina,6 cyl is all I know and it has about 120000 miles on it.Will start and run fine and all of a sudden cuy off like when she slows down to pull in the driveway or stop sign or the like,then is hard to start for a minute,runs like crap the clears up and the whole thing starts over again.Desperate to get her going agagin,anyone have any clues?
