I assume someone has shut the darn thing off and they are working to fix it! The data in that article was from 2001. I'm betting that medical related BK's are an even higher percentage now. Problem with that new bill is that the reason for BK doesn't matter, and if you are rich enough you can shield most of your assets (just like OJ did). If you are passing on risky loans, that's the ethical thing to do in my book too, but you are right - you're losing business. The big credit card companies are promoting bad loans because they make so much more money on the late fees and absurd interest rate hikes. And the yuppies will be the first ones to die off if the economy tanks. Don't know how some of those people make it through the day without getting eaten by squirrels...
