Howdy guys,
A long time back I told you of a Unimog I helped repair a brake line on for a couple of guys from Canada. I enjoyed helping them and met some folks from far away. Ya'll said it was good of me to help and that felt pretty good. I figured I'd let you hear the rest of story.

The 'mog oiled out on the way home from Missouri to Canada and locked up. The Clark Detroit Diesel dealer said they needed an engine. They said they got it 'unstuck', but it wasn't gonna be any good. The guys that owned it called me back and asked me about working on it. I said I could handle the engine swing, no problem. They towed the 'mog all the way back to Illinois from up in indiana or some place. I've driven it around and it smokes pretty good, but the engine doens't sound that bad.

Anyway, the rebuilt engine arrived recently and the swap will take place this week. I'll be sure to take a gaggle of pictures, but someone will have to tell me how to post them. I've been reading the instructions and it looks pretty straightforward, although different, the body will pivot on the front bumper and lift to 90 degrees. I'm told if your not careful, the body can go 180 degrees and land on the ground in front of the truck, that would be major bad.

Earlier I said this thing was a five cylinder but that is wrong. It's an inline 6 diesel, normally aspirated.
