I am with you there. I keep my house about 68-70 in the winter (PUT ON A SWEATER AND SOME SLIPPERS IF YOU ARE COLD!---me, after hearing the kids complain that we need to turn up the heat), and the a/c in the summer is at 73. I just can't stand the humidity! I guess people are thinking that if they get too hot in the winter, they can go outside to cool off, and reverse in the summer. Whatever.
