New Idea Cutditioner

I recently picked up a used CutDitioner. It has worked well for me though it does require all my tractor has. That said, the bearing on the off-power side just went and it only cost me $50 to replace. I like it a lot.

Here"s my question: The roller bar is very loose and I"m considering taking it off altogether. Will that take away considerably from the hay"s quality. I only hay a few acres so unless it"s a huge deal I think I"ll just go without it unless someone says otherwise. Thanks,
