I have a 2840 that did the samething.... I had to have the front pump rebuilt and I had a new pump put in the transmission. It works like new again. The first thing I would do is change the oil and clean the filter screen out. If that does not do anything I would start looking at the front pump. How many hours on it ??? Our had 5100 hours when it started giving troubles. It sounds like your 2840 is starving for oil...that's why it is jerky. One more thing..is your oil cooler clean ??? If they get a lot of dirt on them they will not cool the oil good. Good luck... PJB
